How will I know if the nails will fit me?

Use the sizing guide tutorial to measure your nails before placing your order.

What’s included in my order?

1x Nail set (10 custom nails)

1x Acrylic nail case

1x Free Tool Kit which includes:

  • 1 Nail File

  • 1 Cuticle stick

  • 1 Alcohol Wipe

  • 1 Set of Sticky tabs (2 wears)

  • 1 Nail Glue

How long does each wear last?

Sticky Tabs: 1-3 days (Perfect for matching your nails to your outfit for events, dinners or events)

Sticky Tabs + Hairdryer Method: 1 week +- (Perfect for weeklong vacations or those who enjoy switching up their nail styles weekly)

Nail glue: 2 weeks +- (Perfect for those who enjoy switching up their nail styles twice a month)

Press-ons last longer with a thorough application process, so don't skip nail prep! Incomplete or incorrect application methods can affect wear time.

Can I reuse my press-on nails?

Yes, sticky tabs are recommended if you plan to reuse your press-on nails. Simply clean them with an alcohol wipe or soap and water before storing them back in the case.

Clawmakase press-ons are made with gel, so they last longer than typical drugstore or Shein press-ons. However, like anything else, wear and tear is inevitable over time. Depending on your daily activities, you should be able to reuse them for 3-5 wears, or even longer with proper care.

Are press-on nails suitable for everyday use?

Yes, press-on nails can be worn during most everyday activities. However, it's advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to water, harsh chemicals, and activities that may place excessive stress on the nails.

Why the long wait time for my order?

Each set is made to order, prioritized by order sequence. Depending on the complexity of the design, each set can take 1-5 hours to complete. As it’s just me handling the design, painting, and packing, your patience is greatly appreciated.

Why don't my press-ons last as long as they're supposed to?

1.Incomplete/wrong application process

a. Surface of nails were not buffed before applying

  • Buffing your nails with the rough side of the file will create a rough surface which helps the adhesive stick cling on better. Adhesives do not work well on smooth surfaces.

b. Not using the alcohol wipe

  • The alcohol wipe is not just for removing the dust created from buffing and filing, it is used to dehydrate the nail, removing natural oils on your nail that can reduce the efficacy of the adhesive.

  • Avoid touching your nails after this step as you could accidentally make your nail bed oily again.

c. Exposure to water too soon after application

  • Try to avoid water for the first 2 hours after application to let the adhesive set properly. Applying your press-ons at night before bed can help you naturally avoid water for a few hours. For the first 24 hours, skip long baths, swimming, or washing dishes without gloves.

2. Using your nails as tools

  • It’s common for us to rely on them for daily tasks, like pressing buttons, or trying to scratch something off, but this can weaken the adhesive and cause the nails to pop off.

  • Try to use your finger, knuckle, or even a tweezer.

  • When washing hair, avoid using your nails to scratch your scalp, if you need to it is recommended to use a scalp brush while washing hair.  A cheap one can be bought from Amazon or Shopee.

Disclaimers:

Accidents happen.

Occasionally, a nail might pop off by accident. It’s a good idea to carry sticky tabs or nail glue with you if you're out and about. If you lose a nail and want to order a replacement, feel free to email me at clawmakase@gmail.com with your order number.

Nail Beds and Types Differ from One Person to the Next

Each person has unique nail beds and nail types, which can affect how well press-ons adhere and how long they last. Factors like nail shape, natural oils, and even lifestyle can impact wear time. Adjustments to your application routine may help extend the life of your press-ons, but results can vary.

Press-ons are not meant to be a replacement for manicures/ nail extensions.

Press-ons are temporary nail enhancements best used for short durations. They can be used for an extended period if the nails are removed and reapplied towards the end of each wear time. If this is not an option, it is recommended that you get your nails done at a salon.

Press-ons are great for:

  1. Those who work in fields where they cannot have their nails done (e.g. healthcare) but want nice nails during the weekend/dinners/events.

  2. Those who like the look of long nails but are unable to commit to it on a daily basis (e.g. guitar/piano players, someone who types a lot for work)

  3. Those who prefer to avoid spending time at a salon. (nail extensions with complicated designs can take up to 3-4 hours or longer to complete)

  4. Those who do not wish to splurge on nails. Press-ons are a cheaper alternative to getting your nails done at a salon.

  5. Those who like to switch up their nail look every week/ every other week.

  6. Last-minute nails. Aaa you have an event coming up and your nails aren't done? Press-ons to the rescue!!
